The Importance of a Maintenance Appointment
When coming in for an appointment, whether it’s your first or you’ve been coming for years, we always stress the importance of scheduling a maintenance appointment before you leave that day. The maintenance appointment is the second phase of our treatment solutions. The first phase is getting your hearing aid(s), the second is the maintenance phase, and the third phase is when we go through the hearing test and do another deep cleaning on the hearing aids to make sure they are still working properly, adjusted correctly, and doing so without any complications or issues. This second phase is vital in extending the life of your hearing aid, making sure that each piece in these complicated devices are working up to speed.
What’s going to happen during a maintenance appointment?
During a maintenance appointment, a few things happen. We sit down with you to find out how things have been going with your hearing aids. Any concerns? Any questions? Any supplies? We go through a 14 point checklist on each hearing aid. We deep clean and thoroughly check each aid. We want to make sure that we go over everything to make sure hearings aids are working to the best of their ability. If there are any concerns about the hearing aids, we can look at next steps as far as getting them working their best. Sometimes, if needed, we can also take this time to make any noise adjustments necessary.
